Rene Caris is a commanding ruck known for her aerial presence, physicality, and resilience across multiple AFLW clubs. Originally from Horsham, Victoria, she was drafted from the Greater Western Victoria Rebels and quickly made her mark at Geelong, debuting in 2019 and playing 12 games over four seasons.

After stints with Geelong, GWS Giants, and now St Kilda, Caris has accumulated over 20 AFLW games, consistently contributing in hitouts and contested play. In 2024, she averaged 9.6 hitouts and 5.7 disposals per game for the Saints.

Off the field, Caris is studying Civil Engineering at Deakin University, balancing elite sport with academic excellence. She’s also been vocal about athlete health, having shared her concerns around concussion and long-term brain health following a landmark CTE diagnosis in the sport.
